چکیده

By carrying out extensive lattice regularized diffusion Monte Carlo calculations, we study the spin and density dependence of the ground state energy for a quasi-one-dimensional electron gas, with harmonic transverse confinement and long-range 1/r interactions. We present a parametrization of the exchangecorrelation energy suitable for spin density functional calculations, which fulfills exact low and high density limits. Calculation of Quasi-one-dimensional Interacting Electron Gas Using the Hartree-Fock Method

In this paper, the Hartree-Fock method has been formulated to investigate some of the ground state properties of quasi-one-dimensional interacting electron gas in the presence of the magnetic field. The bare coulomb interaction between electrons has been assumed. For this system, we have also computed some of its thermodynamic and magnetic properties such as the energy, pressure, incompressibil...

Spin-resolved second-order correlation energy of the two-dimensional uniform electron gas

For the two-dimensional electron gas, the exact high-density limit of the correlation energy is evaluated here numerically for all values of the spin polarization. The result is spinresolved into ↑↑, ↑↓, and ↓↓ contributions and parametrized analytically. Interaction-strength interpolation yields a simple model (LSD) for the correlation energy at finite densities. In recent years, two-dimension...

Correlation energy and spin polarization in the 2D electron gas.

The ground-state energy of the two-dimensional uniform electron gas has been calculated with a fixed-node diffusion Monte Carlo method, including backflow correlations, for a wide range of electron densities as a function of spin polarization. We give a simple analytic representation of the correlation energy which fits our simulation data and includes several known high- and low-density limits...

Accurate homogeneous electron gas exchange-correlation free energy for local spin-density calculations.

An accurate analytical parametrization for the exchange-correlation free energy of the homogeneous electron gas, including interpolation for partial spin polarization, is derived via thermodynamic analysis of recent restricted path integral Monte Carlo (RPIMC) data. This parametrization constitutes the local spin density approximation (LSDA) for the exchange-correlation functional in density fu...

Spin and temperature dependent study of exchange and correlation in thick two-dimensional electron layers

The exchange and correlation Exc of strongly correlated electrons in two-dimensional 2D layers of finite width are studied as a function of the density parameter rs, spin-polarization and the temperature T. We explicitly treat strong-correlation effects via pair-distribution functions, and introduce an equivalent constantdensity approximation CDA applicable to all the inhomogeneous densities en...
